Challenge
Rowing Australia is Australia’s peak body for the rowing community in Australia. Their vision is for Australia to be the world’s number one rowing nation, and for rowing to be Australia’s leading Olympic sport. Its headquarters in Yarralumla, Canberra required new signage to reinforce the organisation’s brand, and offer motivation to the teams who meet at the club house for training and comradery.
Approach
Using the principles of Environmental Graphic Design, we assessed the space, including:
The building structure
Movement of people around the building
Natural elements outside of the building
Building architecture
Our goal was to enhance people’s experience of visiting the club house, and make the brand instantly recognisable. We also wanted to make it easy for people to identify the location of equipment, meeting areas, and safety messages with the introduction of effective and attractive signage.
Results
We strategically placed signage inside and outside the club house to increase brand recognition and showcase the organisation’s vision. Our signage is bright, clear and easy to read. It relays important safety messages, and improves the members’ experience when uniting for training or talks at headquarters.
